Understanding Managed Statuses

These statuses determine whether a charger appears on the map and is included in reporting. Additionally, there are three overall charger states that function as 'status modifiers' or 'reporting categories.' These special cases do not replace the charger connector status; for instance, we can have unmanaged chargers that are still marked as available.

Active: The charger is live and contributing to reporting.

Last Known: The charger is not communicating with InControl, which we also refer to as Out of Network. Out-of-network chargers are displayed on the map. When showing the overall status for these chargers, we base it on the last report received but change the color to grey and add a '?' symbol, indicating that the software lacks current information. Despite this status, an out-of-network charger can generally still charge a vehicle.

Unmanaged: The charger has not yet been commissioned, is frequently powered off intentionally, is off the network by design, is in the process of being decommissioned, or is a test unit. As a result, it is not shown on the map or included in reporting. When reviewing uptime or network availability reports, we want to ensure that your statistics are not artificially depressed by equipment that remains turned off most of the time.
