Authorization Policies

Authorization policies allow you to control who can use your chargers and set the methods for granting access. Start by going to the Authorization Policies page from your Menu Bar.

Note: You need Admin or higher permissions to view, create, or edit policies.

You can control access to chargers using the following methods:

  • PIN: Enter a Personal Identification Number
  • RFID Card: Scan an access card using Radio-Frequency Identification
  • Vehicle ID: Automatically recognize authorized vehicles
  • Payment Method: Require payment for access

Please Note: Not all chargers are compatible with credit card readers. For details on your charger’s compatibility, refer to 'Payment & Authorization Options by Charger'.

Quickly filter your list by charger, vehicle, or authorization type to easily view and manage your policies.

Network Connectivity and Charger Behavior

Chargers adjust based on network conditions:

  • Some chargers will pause energy dispensing when offline
  • Others automatically switch to Free Mode to allow charging without network authorization.

Outage Authorization Storage: In the event of an outage, chargers can temporarily store multiple authorizations locally to maintain access.

Free Mode: If your charger shows "Out of Network" due to a lost internet connection, it may still dispense energy in Free Mode.
