What is EVCCID? | Electric Vehicle Communication Controller Identifier (EVCC ID or EVCCID) is a unique set of letters and numbers assigned to a charging port. With the EVCCID, we can identify vehicles, authorize charging without the driver having to do anything, and automatically associate sessions with vehicles using the EVCCID. |
Is it necessary to link the EVCCID to the vehicle in InControl? | It is not required for viewing sessions per vehicle, but it is beneficial for easier identification when a user has multiple vehicles, allowing them to be distinguished by Name or VIN. |
What if an EV gets a new charging port? | The EVCCID is tied to the charging port, so if a charger port is replaced, the vehicle would likely get a new EVCCID. |
Can EVCCID Authentication be done on CHAdeMO? | CHAdeMO does not send EVCCID. |
Can we collect EVCCIDs when RFID, PIN, or Payment authorizations are enabled? | Yes, with the new firmware of the ICE charger, you can collect EVCCIDs when these authorization policies are active. However, chargers with the older firmware cannot collect EVCCIDs when authorizations are required. |
Is telematics required to view charging sessions per vehicle? | No. It is not required. |
Can I get VIN, make or model of vehicles from the charger? | Our chargers currently only collect EVCCIDs, and any further information must be added manually through the vehicle detail page. |
